Hunter Biden, the son of U.S. President Joe Biden, unexpectedly attended a meeting of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday. The committee had subpoenaed him to testify about his business dealings, which have been the subject of investigations by the Biden administration. Biden repeated his offer to appear at the meeting voluntarily.
The meeting comes amid an ongoing investigation by Special Counsel John Durham into Biden's business dealings. Durham was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate the origins of the FBI's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election.
