Europe's Ariane 6 Rocket Powers into Space

A New Era of Heavy-Lift Rocketry

Europe's new heavy-lift rocket, Ariane 6, has made its inaugural flight from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.

Increased Payload Capacity

Developed by ArianeGroup, ArianeSpace's parent company, and its European industrial partners, Ariane 6 boasts an increased payload capacity compared to its predecessor, Ariane 5.

Cost-Effective Launch

With two P120 boosters, Ariane 6 can launch up to 5000 kg (11000 lb) to geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) at a cost of 75 million euros. Adding four boosters would further enhance its payload capacity.

International Collaboration

Ariane 6 is a project of 13 member states of the European Space Agency (ESA), led by France and Germany. The partners have pledged subsidy payments of up to 4 billion euros.

Technical Specifications

Ariane 6 stands 63 meters tall with a diameter of 5.4 meters. It can launch up to 21650 kilograms to low Earth orbit.
