Verstappen Dominates, Sainz Impresses
Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing controlled the race from start to finish, leading every lap of the 70-lap contest to secure his sixth victory of the season and extend his championship lead to 46 points over Sergio Perez, who finished second.
Sainz Scores Fastest Lap, Impresses
Carlos Sainz of Ferrari impressed by finishing second and also earning an additional point for setting the fastest lap of the race. Despite starting from the back of the grid due to a penalty, Sainz fought his way through the field with a determined drive. He overtook several cars in the early stages and then passed Fernando Alonso of Alpine on the penultimate lap to secure the runner-up spot.
The race was not without drama. Several drivers retired, including George Russell of Mercedes and Zhou Guanyu of Alfa Romeo, who crashed in the opening lap. The safety car was deployed twice, on lap 8 and lap 20. However, the race resumed with Verstappen in control and Sainz proving to be his only challenger.
